New Electrostatic Device Launched To Help Hospitality Sector Fight Against Covid-19

Those in the hospitality industry can now further protect their premises against the threat of Covid-19 with a new electrostatic cleaning device designed to disinfect surfaces quickly and effectively. Global hygiene and pest control products manufacturer Pelsis Group has launched the Hurricane ES, an electrostatic fogger that disperses disinfectant across potentially contaminated surfaces to provide widespread coverage. It uses electrostatic technology to charge tiny droplets of disinfectant solution to create an ultra-low volume fog.

The electrostatically charged micro particles repel each other as they are dispersed into the atmosphere at high speeds, delivering consistent coverage and stronger contact with all surfaces for optimum cleaning. With many hospitality venues looking to reopen their doors to the public in 2021, the hygiene and safety of their premises will be top of the agenda for owners and operators. Electrostatic fogging is a new method of fighting Covid-19 as part of an enhanced cleaning and sanitisation process. Carried out correctly it is one of the most effective ways to deep clean and rid an area of viruses and germs.

Pelsis Group chief executive, Andrew Milner, said:

We’re excited to make the Hurricane ES available to owners and operators across the hospitality sector as they gear up to welcome members of the public back into their venues. The electrostatic functionality of the product gives it the edge and is perfect for high touch at risk areas common across hospitality venues. “Our technical teams have worked hard to get all the necessary CE approvals for the Hurricane ES. The result is a highly effective product which we believe makes a real difference for owners and operators looking to enhance their cleaning and hygiene regimes in the fight against Covid-19.

Initially made in Jackson, Mississippi, by the Pelsis Group’s American-based business Curtis Dyna-fog, the company now plans to localise production of the fogger at the group’s UK facility in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, to fulfill domestic and European demand.

Pelsis Group has a turnover of around £150m and employs more than 500 people across 15 sites located throughout the UK, Europe, China and the USA. The company specialises in pest and hygiene control and owns a number of brands operating in those sectors including Curtis Dyna-Fog, Edialux and Insect-O-Cutor. For more information visit
